Jim Parker is the creator and host of the popular Jim Parker’s Songwriters Series at the Von Braun Center Playhouse since 2005 where he showcases the incredible talent of his hit songwriter friends from Nashville, Muscle Shoals, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Canada and surrounding areas. Without the songwriter there would be no music because it all begins with a songwriter and a song.

Alabama born Ricky Ray took up slide guitar at the age of three as he sat on his great grandmother's lap and watched her play slide guitar using a butter knife, and he hasn't looked back since. Primarily recognized as a guitar player's guitar player, no matter the venue, when he plays everyone in the room sits up and takes notice. Player, producer, and singer-songwriter, he works with some of the best, played for some of the best, and has a versatile list of cuts unlike many others in Nashville.
